3D CT Scan

A 3D CT Scan contains information that is used to accurately plan for treatment before procedures begin. Your anatomy can be seen in three dimensions and can be enlarged, rotated, and divided in any direction, revealing potential problem areas during the treatment plan process. Better planning allows for more predictable treatment results in procedure such as implant placement, oral surgery, orthodontics, Temporomandibular Joint analysis and more.

Implants

Cross-sections, which are not feasible with standard dental X-rays, empower us to precisely measure the bone, aiding in the selection of the most suitable implant for the site.

Oral Surgery

Knowing the exact location of the teeth in relation to other dental structures, such as nerves and sinuses allows for the safest tooth removal procedure.

3D CT Scan

TMJ

Using a 3D CT scan, we can view joints and adjacent structures from every conceivable angle, facilitating improved planning for the treatment of jaw and facial pain.

How are 3D Images Acquired and are they Safe?

Taking a 3D image is a simple process. You will be seated in the unit and asked to place your chin on a chin rest. After a few quick positioning adjustments, the scan will begin. The gantry, the part of the unit that takes the X-ray, will rotate around your head. The scan is painless and will last around 9 seconds. Within 20 seconds the images are on the computer and ready for immediate diagnosis. 3D images will allow you to truly visualize and better understand your treatment options.

Understanding that many patients are concerned with radiation exposure, we have chosen a system with the lowest radiation output. This system uses at least 10 times less radiation than traditional medical CT scans. The system’s standard scan is slightly less than the equivalent of 4 standard bitewing X-rays.
